Pop-Up Kiosks

Enriching Transport for London’s retail strategy by designing a flexible, modular kiosk to fit a variety of locations and attract more quality retailers

Designing this prototype for generic pop-up style kiosk supports the development of Transport for London’s ambitious plans for its retail property portfolio. Based on modular systems and using clever space-saving techniques, the kiosks can expand and contract to fit location size and suit tenant requirements. The design concept is a malleable ‘blank canvas’ onto which retailers can easily inject their own brand personality.

Launching this new kiosk design in Waterloo station, Prosper collaborates with the inaugural retailers - Scribbler and Hotel Chocolat. By collaborating closely with both brands to customise their units, they benefit from our thorough knowledge of the kiosk’s flexible system but also the London Underground’s building regulations and delivery system, garnered from experience on other TfL projects. For Scribbler, we design the full interior including all storage requirements, finishes and new wall systems, plus the full lighting layout. Tailoring the smaller Hotel Chocolat kiosk includes installing climatisation to keep merchandise in top condition. As a result, both brands present an effective and confident brand presence.

This versatile kiosk is now being rolled out across TfL’s entire retail estate.
